Are you serious? I think Ariel is one of the most beautifully drawn animated characters ever and never thought I could touch that level. Glad I could do her a little justice or make her interesting. Thanks!!!!!
I gotta say mang, you NEVER know how art will be perceived by others. I thought these were pretty blase' (Blah-zay) and fundamentally basic.... and I'm stoked a few people dug them. It does make me feel like a little bit less of a loser.
Art is looked at, or perceived i should say, in an unlimited amount of ways. it all depends on who is viewing it, and what the artist was thinking about when he/she drew it. When any great artist (such as yourself) creates anything, they should never feel like a loser because it is what they either felt like creating, or a certain mood or person (like a request or commission) they were in made them create what they did. either way, its usualy from the heart if they are a great artist (again, like you are)
Oh.. forgot to tell you, keep plugging along bro... things won't stay the same forever! If you are feeling trapped in any situation, you do have the power to change it. Life is too short not to go for your dreams!
Not at all, I did enjoy your take on the character. Last week I was reading an interview of the creators of Sky-doll. Both worked doing Disney comics in Italy and they explained that during that time Disney let most of the artist had freedom to add their touch to the characters.
Skydoll is one of my all time favorites! I did a quick sketch a long time ago (before I got to really sit down and read the series) [link]
How you feel about a company is your own perception. I have worked for companies that people hated and loved... just depends on your experience while you are there. I know LOTS of artists and friends that absolutely LOVE working for Disney. I would totally work for them, but I'm not in a position to relocate... so pooh (no pun intended)! If you have the ability to go after a job with them, you should seriously consider it.
Well Steven.... I wasn't trying for that but more of a surprised look on her face at something that was happening just in front of her.... or I would have aimed her eyes down more if she was looking at her boobs. Good idea though...
